Tracy Hall is taking part in the Southport Santa Sprint as Cruella de Vil

A Southport dog lover will dress as Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians to do the annual Southport Santa Sprint this weekend!

Tracy Hall will be accompanied by her beloved Dalmatian dogs as she takes part in the event to raise money for Queenscourt Hospice.

You can sponsor Tracy’s fundraising efforts on her GoFundMe page here.

The Southport Santa Sprint will start from Silcock’s Funland and Carousel this Sunday, 3rd December 2023, with people invited to turn up and take part via the Queenscourt Hospice website

Tracy said: “This year we are doing the Queenscourt Santa Sprint as Cruella de Vil!

“Please help this great cause,  please donate.

“I am looking forward to seeing people on the day.

“Harvey and Vivienne will have the lunchboxes for the money box to donate with them clipped onto their harnesses .

“There are so many people out there who have had the help of the Queenscourt Hospice.

“This year we sadly lost a member of my husband’s family and they couldn’t do enough to help Ronnie McDonald and all his family.

“I also lost my Dad few years ago now.

“We have done the Santa Sprint for a good few years now but this year we decided that, as we do Cruella de Vil at Halloween, we thought it was a good idea to use the costume for the Santa Sprint.

“It was sadly used for a child’s funeral who also sadly lost her battle to cancer but absolutely loved our Harvey, Coco and Vivienne. We walked in front of their coffin so in her memory and their memories we are doing the Santa Sprint with them in our hearts.

“Please help donate to an amazing cause that helps so many people.”

Silcock Leisure Group is sponsoring this weekend’s Southport Santa Sprint for Queenscourt Hospice for the 14th year in a row.

The local family firm, which employs over 70 local people, is donating a further £1,000 to the charity, which cares for patients and their families across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.

The 2023 Southport Santa Sprint will see the town turn red on Sunday, 3rd December 2023, with people invited to turn up and take part via the Queenscourt Hospice website

Runners start and end the event and end at Silcock’s Funland before making Southport’s coastline become a sea of Santas.

The Santa Sprint has raised over £115,000 for Queenscourt Hospice since its inception and is a full family affair – even your pet dog can take part, whether it’s a Dalmatian or otherwise.

Once again there will be both a 3k and a 5k route for you to walk, jog or run.

The scenic route, which starts and ends at Silcock’s Funland, is also suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, pushchairs and buggies.

Each participant will be given a Santa suit to wear and you will also be awarded a medal.

There will be a complimentary hot drink for each participant courtesy of Silcock Leisure Group.

Running Santas will also be able to enjoy a free ride on Silcock’s Carousel.

Silcock’s will also once again be providing discounted bacon or sausage barms to participants and volunteers at just £1 each.

Registration is now open and costs £20 for adults, £19 for under 16s or £50 for a family of two adults and two children.

Your Santa Sprint registration covers the cost of the event and your Santa suit.

This is a sponsored event and participants are invited to generate a minimum sponsorship of £30 for adults, and £15 for under 16s.
