Friday’s fun is being staged by the Gambolling Arena innovative theatre company.

“Gambolling Arena returns to the Southport Bijou Cinema this Friday to present our brand new ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ live show, featuring real life actors performing their version of the classic movie!
“Following their floor show will be a screening of the film itself!
“Tickets are just £10 for adults and £5 for children, so book now to celebrate all things spooky and festive with us at the Bijou!

“The event will be finished at approximately 8.50pm for those bringing children.”
There is much to enjoy on Saturday too.
Southport Bijou Cinema Manager Andy Harrison said: “This Saturday at 7.30pm, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is back at the Bijou!
“This time, it’s to celebrate our third birthday!
“Our Day 1 Bijou fans will know that Rocky Horror was the first film we ever showed, and 2022 will bring in the first anniversary that we can truly celebrate and honour that with no social distancing!
“So come along to a sing-a-long, dance-a-long, fancy dress endorsed party, and celebrate all things spooky at Halloween with us in DJ Deadite’s Disco following the film!”
Southport opened in 2019 in the former Latin Lounge building on Post Office Avenue in Southport town centre.
It is run by a volunteer-led and not-for-profit Community Interest Company.
Visitors can enjoy a mixture of new, old, classic and indie films.
Bijou brings cinema to the people of Southport with matinees and evening films including classics old and new, independent films not shown at multiplexes, and dynamic world cinema.
Guests are invited to write their film and arts events requests on the chalkboard in the cafe / bar, as they listen to all recommendations for future programming!.
Adjacent to the cafe / bar is the Cinema – a raked auditorium with comfortable seats and an Optoma 8,000-lumens projector, plus 5.1 Surround Sound speakers to present an immersive cinematic experience. There are two wheelchairs spaces available, as well as an induction loop system installed.
Upstairs, on the first floor, is an open space for events and parties known as The Lounge. It has a new multi-lighting system with comfortable sofas and easy chairs. Also upstairs is the Media Room for talks, films, or to just chill-out and watch the HDTV.
