Students at KGV in Southport enjoy day of celebrations as they collect A-Level and Extended Diploma results

Thursday was a day of celebrations at Southport’s KGV Sixth Form College, where students gathered on campus from 8.30am to get their A-Level and Level 3 Extended Diploma Results.  Once again students at the college have done exceptionally well and as a result are now heading off to prestigious universities and high level employment right across the country.

The college  – the number one sixth form in Sefton – has seen a record number of applications for the new term.

As well as celebrating their fantastic achievements with their friends, family, tutors and classmates; the students were also joined by College Principal Michelle Brabner and Local MP Damien Moore.

Speaking at the celebration, Michelle Brabner said: 

“Our students have achieved excellent results today and this reflects the determination and hard work of both the students and the staff.

“It was wonderful to celebrate their achievements with them this morning and the class of 2022 are a credit to the College, their families and Southport. 

“We are so very proud of everything they have achieved here at KGV Sixth Form, and we wish them every success for their future.” 

The results at the College this year have seen incredible pass rates with an impressive number of students receiving the top grades and students and their families were on campus early on Thursday morning to find out their results and celebrate with their tutors and classmates.

Success was not limited to A-levels, as the students studying BTEC Advanced Level Extended Diplomas, which are equivalent to three A-Levels also received excellent results, with many students achieving the highest grades of 3 Distinction Stars.

Christine Bampton, Chair of Governors, said: 

“We are very proud of our students and it is wonderful to see their talents being recognised through these results.

The college has seen a record number of applications for the new term, which is brilliant news for the town and students looking to start at KGV Sixth Form in September are reminded they should enrol on campus from August 25th to ensure their place.
