Which? Has today revealed its much-awaited hotel rankings, as rated by members – and found Premier Inn at top spot.

The hotel chain, which has a site at Ocean Plaza in Southport, achieved an impressive customer score of 79%, and earned 5/5 stars for categories including: Cleanliness; Beds; Description Matched Reality; and Covid-19 Safety Measures.

The Premier Inn Hotel in Southport is the fifth highest rated hotel in Southport according to hotel guests on TripAdvisor, giving it a score of four stars out of five.

One review, Siobhan, described it as “excellent, and the best Premier Inn I’ve stayed in.”

Another reviewer, William B, said: “Stayed at this Premier Inn on 29/01/22 & glad we chose this place to stay. From arrival to leaving it was a pleasure to be there. The room, food & drinks can not be faulted but above all the staff really make this hotel a great place to stay & we will definitely be staying here next time we visit Southport.”

Premier Inn has more than 800 hotels throughout the UK and an average room price of just £66.

Customers were particularly impressed by their king-sized beds and the selection between firm or soft pillows.

In fifth place in the Which? Survey with an impressive 74% score is Wetherspoon Hotels, with the firm currently planning a brand new hotel in the Pavilion Buildings on the corner of Lord Street and Coronation Walk in Southport town centre.

Bottom of the survey for the ninth year in a row is Britannia (49%), which owns four sites in Southport: The Prince of Wales Hotel, The Scarisbrick Hotel, The Royal Clifton Hotel, and Pontins.

Which? members rated 24 large hotel chains and six small ones based on 2,600 stays in the 15 months before October 2021.

Guests were asked to assess the hotels in 10 categories, including cleanliness, customer service, bed comfort, communal areas, value for money and whether the chain’s ‘description matches reality’.

Overall, it found there are ‘affordable, quality rooms available’ in Britain, with hotel rates falling by more than an eighth in the past year.

In Southport, guests are spoiled for choice with the top quality independent hotels and guest houses in our town.

Three Southport guest houses are also in line to win a top regional tourism award this March.

The Sunnyside B&B, The Braemar Southport and The Heidi B&B have taken all three shortlisted places in the Guest House of the Year Category for this year’s Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards. The initiative continues to recognise excellence across the City Region’s tourism and hospitality sector.

Every year the judging panel sifts through the many applications to narrow down the very best, who will now go forward to the final judging panel ahead of the awards ceremony taking place at Liverpool Cathedral on 10 March 2022.

He said: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised on the shortlist for the tourism awards! It is such a prestigious award. We are over the moon.

“It has been 12 years since a Southport guest house, The Ambassador Townhouse on Bath Street, won this award.

“Now, with three Southport guest houses making up the final three, we know that the award will be coming back to Southport once again. Whoever wins the award, we will all celebrate, it is great recognition for Southport as a whole.”

Visitors to Southport definitely have lots of quality accommodation to choose from.

Hey would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

  12. I am no longer sure where you are getting your information, however great topic. I must spend some time studying more or figuring out more. Thank you for fantastic information I used to be in search of this information for my mission.
