A six-year-old boy who has only just learned how to ride a bike has raised hundreds of pounds after pledging to ride 300km in a 30 day challenge.
Albert Henderson, a pupil at St Philip’s Primary School in Southport, was on stabilisers while riding his bike until April. Since then, there has been no stopping him.
His Mum, Helen Henderson, said: “My six-year-old son learned to ride a bike on April 19.
“Then on May 9, he took on a 300km in 30 days challenge.
“He has raised £400 for the NSPCC smashing his £100 target.
“He was so bad on the bike but we did it then a few weeks later we went off for a ride up to Ainsdale, down the Coast Road. We had done 18km, then I saw the challenge and asked if he wanted to do it, which he did.

“We think the NSPCC is an amazing cause, especially during the current time when people and children are struggling.
“He also started making rainbow badges and selling them at 50p to add to the fund.
“We are so proud of the £400 he has raised.”
The NSPCC is the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands.
An NSPCC spokesman said: “Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse.
“That’s why we’re here. That’s what drives all our work. And that’s why – as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood.”
