CEO of Southport Learning Trust, Ian Raikes, will be running the 2026 London Marathon in aid of kNOwKnifeCrime CIC – a project he has been deeply involved with since 2022.
The former headteacher of Greenbank High School in Southport has already raised over £2,500 ahead of the 26.2-mile challenge on Sunday 26th April 2026.
Ian Raikes said:
“I am proud to be the CEO of Southport Learning Trust and have been involved with kNOwKnifeCrime since 2022, having been part of the initial team that decided to complete a run between schools to raise awareness and tackle a contextual safeguarding challenge.
“I have been part of this project for four years and saw the natural next step was to run the London Marathon after having supported and been inspired by others during this time.
“I have been allocated a place by the London Marathon, who we link closely with as an Inspiring Teacher.
“I am passionate about raising funds to support first aid training for all our pupils across the Trust so that they can act in an emergency to help others within our community and beyond, fully embodying our Trust vision of ‘Empowering our communities to positively impact the world.’
“This year, our fundraising focus is to provide high-quality first aid training for every pupil across the Trust.
“Your sponsorship would directly contribute to equipping young people with lifesaving skills and strengthening the safety and resilience of our wider community.
“Whether you are able to offer financial sponsorship, or help us amplify the campaign, your support would make a meaningful difference.
“Thank you for your support.”
