People are invited to enjoy the Wesley Street Summer Fair in Southport during the bank holiday weekend.

The event takes place on Saturday, 26th August 2023 between midday and 4pm.

Visitors will be able to enjoy great stalls, fantastic food, fun face painting and more!

Money raised through this special event will go towards funding a new defibrillator based on the street with a target of £2,600 needing to be raised.

Traders will be working alongside the Southport Saviours campaign group, which has been successful in raising money for additional defibrillators to be placed in locations across the town.

Hannah Quilliam, the owner of Beauty HQ on Wesley Street, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting a fundraiser day on Wesley Street on Saturday 26th August to raise money for a defibrillator for Wesley Street working alongside Southport Saviours

“Every shop and business on Wesley Street will be putting on a little something in order to raise money for the charity.

“We are looking for some other local businesses who may want to get involved and looking for donations along the way.

“We will have so many coming along on the day along with Dune Radio with so many other independent businesses from around Southport to help us reach our target of £2,600.

“We will have live performances, face painting, coloured hair braiding, a bottle tombola, a teddy bear tombola, a make your own slime stall, a raffle, a tea cup hunt, ice cream, cake sale, games thanks to Southport College, a hand-made jewellery sale, Tropics Skin Care stand  and CPR demonstrations with many prizes to be won.

“We are still hoping for other businesses to donate, bottles, teddy bears, or raffle prizes such as vouchers or products and we will give a shout out to those who do donate.

“We are encouraging the children to draw hearts on the road with chalk.

“We want Wesley Street to be really colourful by the end of the day”

“There will be food stalls and local cafes open to serve refreshments, from the likes of Walkers, Tik Taco, Delizzis, Shot and Chaser, Cafe Dale and Triviso.

“We would like to invite as many people from Southport to attend our first street party since the pandemic.”
