Stand Up For Southport has now passed 18,000 local members in our Facebook group!
We would like to say a huge thank you for everyone who has joined, and everyone who has invited friends and family to join.
We would also like to thank all of you who have let us know about positive news or community events happening in Southport, all of you who have posted, liked or added your comments – and to all who have posted your magnificent photos of our stunningly beautiful town!
We started Stand Up For Southport last year to provide a much-needed positive online and social media platform for all things good about Southport.
We have been overwhelmed by your support – over 18,000 local people and growing in our Facebook group, over 1,700 in our Business Facebook page, over 3,700 on Instagram, over 4,600 on Twitter, and growing numbers on our YouTube channel.
You won’t find any crime stories on Stand Up For Southport. You won’t find us highlighting the negatives putting people off Southport.
You will find lots of news about new developments happening here; new businesses opening; constant appeals to ‘Shop Local’ and ‘Eat Local!; great events happening; local people doing amazing things; charities and community organisations which deserve our support.
We have seen lots of exciting things happening in Southport this year. We are looking forward to seeing more, and sharing those with you!
We all want Southport to do well. We all want it to be better. But it will only improve if we all support our town and the people, the organisations and the businesses here.
We all need to be ambassadors for our town.
