By Sophie Swain Stand Up For Southport
A new pottery cafe in Churchtown Village, Southport is due to open at the beginning of March.
Crafty Badger Ceramics, founded by Rachael Laisney is located on Botanic Road.
She aims to run pottery beginner courses as well as holding open studio sessions where people can work on their own projects.
In the space will be a kiln, an oven for drying clay, and a wheel to use.
Rachael also hopes to host pottery painting classes for people who want to go along for a social evening of painting or do something creative.
She said: “It won’t be just for pottery though, I am hoping to get in other artists and creators to run classes with a range of skills, so watch this space!”
On top of all that, there will be a cafe bar open from Tuesday to Sunday, serving coffee, cocktails, wine and snacks.
Rachael began renovating the space on Botanic Road in January this year and has been working hard to get it up and running.
Alongside this, she makes handmade ceramic plant pots and tumblers which have seen over 300 sales on her Etsy account.
