Merseyrail has achieved accredited status under the Liverpool City Region Fair Employment Charter, recognising the rail operator’s commitment to fair, inclusive and healthy working practices.
Only a small number of organisations have achieved accredited status so far, placing Merseyrail among those helping to set the standard locally. The Fair Employment Charter is designed to raise expectations across the Liverpool City Region, and accreditation confirms that Merseyrail is playing a leading role in driving positive change.
To achieve accredited status, Merseyrail provided clear evidence across four areas, Fair, Just, Inclusive and Healthy. The independent panel looked beyond policies, focusing on real examples of how commitments are being put into practice and the difference they are making for colleagues. More than 40 pieces of evidence were submitted, including policies, case studies and examples from across the business.
