Oak Theatre and Studios paid partnership
The Oak Theatre and Studios near Southport became a roaring Jurassic World of dinosaurs at the weekend, with a fun and educational show that families loved.
The performers from Teach Rex appeared at the venue for an afternoon show on Sunday (20th September 2026).
Local photographers Kevin and Carole Brown, from Kevin Brown Photography, were on hand to capture these superb shots of visitors enjoying all the action at Scarisbrick Hall.
Suzie Walsmley, who took her grandson to the show, said: “We had a wonderful and entertaining afternoon.
“It was lovely to see the show, which was enjoyed by all ages!
“It was so good to experience something which was educational and yet still terrific fun for my grandson.”
After receiving thousands of five reviews for their events and selling out hundreds of shows around the UK, the award-winning Teach Rex team were delighted to be bringing this unique, interactive show to the North West.
Teach Rex used life-like dinosaurs to perform their one hour show, teaching children about the anatomy and life of one the most mesmerising creatures that have ever roamed our planet.
The show was packed with effects and music and gave children and their families the chance to get up close and personal with these fantastic, realistic beasts.
The new show delved into the jaws of one of the most iconic dinosaurs to ever roam the world, the T-REX.
Delivered by primary school teachers, the team took the audience on an interactive, prehistoric journey, pinpointing misconceptions surrounding this beast.
The educational part of the show ran for approximately one hour and was followed by a dinosaur meet and greet where families could secure photographs next to the dinosaurs whilst enjoying a dance.

11th-31st December 2026 – Sleeping Beauty. Anton Benson Productions return with the magical pantomime Sleeping Beauty! Following the huge success of last year’s Jack and the Beanstalk, they are back with another spectacular festive production running from Friday 11 December to Thursday 31 December, including a special New Year’s Eve performance.
