Southport’s longest-established crazy golf course is delighted to be open every day during the school Easter holidays with some new-look attractions for families to enjoy!
Masters Crazy Golf marked its 60th anniversary last year.
The owners decided the best way to celebrate was to invest in a smart new look for the course, creating some new-look obstacles; new signage; new gates; and more improvements in time for Easter.
Families have been enjoying getting out on the 18-course attraction this week.
Masters Crazy Golf, situated in Kings Gardens, next to Marine Lake, has been entertaining generations of golf lovers ever since the course first opened in 1965.

“Things are going really well! It’s been brilliant seeing so many families coming out to enjoy our new-look course! We’ve had some fantastic feedback.
“There is so much to enjoy in Southport during the school Easter holidays.
“At just £5 per game, our crazy golf course is fantastic value – plus you could win a free game if you can hit the bell on the 19th hole!
“This is a big year for Southport. With The Open Golf Championship returning to Royal Birkdale this summer lots of people are talking about golf, and it’s the perfect time for families to come and play together.
“Everyone in Southport will be hoping to see Tommy Fleetwood win the tournament!”
Tommy Fleetwood would be more than welcome to play a round or two at Masters Crazy Golf, where he’d no doubt be impressed with the improvements.
Charles Law said: “We’ve been working closely with Terry at Southport business CWS (Custom Welding Services) to upgrade a number of our attractions.
“He has been brilliant to collaborate with, we’re really impressed with what he’s created for us.
“He’s been working hard on features such as the Space Race Rocket, the Watermill, the Hurdy Gurdy, and The Helter Skelter.
“The Hurdy Gurdy, the loop on our 17th hole, has been revamped and repainted. Terry has been creating a new roof for our water wheel. There is a new roof on the clown feature.
“We love our new gates and signage to the front.
“I spent a full week before the Easter holidays power washing and getting everything spotless.
“Peope visiting will be able to see a lot of positive changes, while still keeping all the elements that everyone loves about this course.
“Terry is building a new windmill for us, which we are looking forward to unveiling later in the season.
“Having celebrated our 60th anniversary, and with The Open this year, we wanted to go all out to impress our visitors this year.
“We hope we can make Masters Crazy Golf look better than it’s ever been.
“King’s Gardens is a brilliant place for families to visit. It’s great to see other attractions like The Carousel, Funland and the Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant open every day, and all the boats back on the Marine Lake too!
“It has been so uplifting to see so many families out enjoying themselves in Southport.
“Hopefully it’s a positive sign of a busy year to come.”
Masters Crazy Golf is an exciting, fun and challenging course to play, with something to suit all tastes and abilities.
The attractive 18-hole miniature golf course is situated in one of the most scenic spots in Southport, inside the scenic Kings Gardens, and next to the Marine Lake.
It is surrounded by other long-standing family attractions too including the Southport Model Railway Village, the Southport Marine Lake boats, Silcock’s Carousel, Silcock’s Funland, Adventure Coast Southport, the miniature railway and others.
The course is open between 10am and 6pm, weather permitting, with just £5 per person for 18 holes.
Anyone who rings the bell on the 19th hole can win a free game too!
The ‘Masters’ was originally called the ‘Arnold Palmer’ putting green, with the original Mr Law taking on the franchise, with the design influenced by one of golf’s greatest legends.
Some of the holes are inspired by some of the world’s most iconic greens, with others having a crazy golf theme.
Mr Law bravely risked all he had to take on the Arnold Palmer franchise. It was the very first course to be built in the UK and is still run today by the same family.
Over the years the putting course has fondly become known as ‘Southport Crazy Golf ‘.
This 18–hole miniature golf course has historic and much-loved obstacles situated around the course to challenge all players, such as the Windmill, Lighthouse, Hurdy-Gurdy and the Helter Skelter.
