People can watch an urban street artist at work live in Wayfarers Arcade in Southport this Easter weekend.
Local artist Leon Sparkes, also known as ‘illographics’, will be in the arcade, on Lord Street in Southport town centre, from midday this Saturday (4th April 2026).
Families can call in and watch him at work, as he creates a unique artwork on the window at Gallery More in Wayfarers.
He will also be working on a window at the former Beales department store.
People are welcome to call in and do some artwork of their own, with some pens and paper available.
Some of Leon’s works will also be on sale at Gallery More.
The work of illographics has evolved out of Leon’s passion for street art, fashion and culture.
He has worked as a solo graffiti artist, and collaborated with other creatives on a variety of urban and contemporary projects.
Evolving his tags, throw-ups and street pieces, he has taken his work as far as Seoul and Tokyo, feeding his passion for the new.
Being influenced by street art, illographics fuses his quick, one-line illustrations with a creative explosion of techniques including; collage, spray painting and traditional painting.
His imagery features weird and wonderful characters in strange and beautiful worlds. His work is expressive, abstract and vibrant in its nature.
There is lots to enjoy in Wayfarers this Easter, with the arcade also hosting its Wayfarers Easter Egg Hunt.
