People are being invited to enjoy the postponed High Park Christmas Tree Carol Singing event this Tuesday night (14th December), after the original date was postponed by Storm Arwen.
Gale force winds in November unfortunately meant the planned switch on was called off. The same weekend also saw events such as the Southport FC fixture with Darlington and Southport parkrun postponed.
People in High Park can now come together this Tuesday for a great community event, singing carols around their impressive new Christmas tree on Bispham Road.
The night starts from 5.30pm, with carol singing, music from the Salvation Army Brass Band and singing from local church choir groups. All are welcome.
Joe McNulty, Community Organiser for the High Park Project, said: “While we are obviously disappointed to not have the switch on event we wanted due to appalling weather conditions, we hope the community will be able to join us for this to celebrate their spirit and this wonderful time of year with song!”
The High Park Christmas Tree Carol singing will take place on Tuesday 14th December between 5.30pm and 6pm outside the One Stop Shop on Bispham Road.
Organisers say they hope this will become an annual event.
The High Park Project is a National Lottery funded project and contributed towards the fencing of the Christmas tree with Norwood Ward councillors funding the tree and lights.
