The newest restaurant on Lord Street in Southport has unveiled some delicious new dishes for its customers after receiving lots of positive feedback during its opening weeks.
Grill Hunters, at 199 Lord Street (opposite The Carlton), is famous for its charcoal grill menu with a number of traditional Romanian and international hot and cold meals. It opened in August.
Owner Emily Serban and her family have invested in the location with the aim of providing something new and unique to the Southport area. Emily’s husband, who runs the Bold Corner Ltd A la Lulu specialist food shop on nearby Bold Street, also enjoys helping out.
So far the response has been incredibly positive, with the feedback from diners leading to the creation of a brand new Vegetarian Menu, along with some other changes.
Customers can now enjoy dishes including starters such as Baked Camembert, Pizette and Vegetable Pate on Toast, with mains such as Spiced Cauliflower Steak, Halloumi Skewers with Fries and a Vegetarian Hunter’s Salad.

With a new charcoal grill on the premises, installed by local firm KitchEquip, meat lovers are also in for a treat with a newly created Full Rack of Marinated Lamb Ribs adding to popular dishes including the Hunter’s Mighty Mixed Grill and Hunter’s Pork Mixed Grill.
Grill Hunters uses local suppliers and now has a board at Southport Football Club.
They are now providing meal deliveries to people’s homes through the new Southport Eats App, with a 15% discount for takeaway orders.
Grill Hunters owner Emily Serban said: “The opening few weeks have been great, the good weather has helped a lot.
“We have been changing our menu this week according to the feedback that we have received from our customers. Things are a bit scary at the moment with the Covid situation but we hope we will be fine. We are all in the same situation, and we all hope for the best.
“We are enjoying cooking fresh meat on the grill and we are using local suppliers for our stock.
“Everyone is happy with the taste of our food, we have had no complaints and people are happy to come back to us.
“We would now love to see even more new customers come over and give us a try!”

A number of dishes on the Grill Hunters menu have already become firm customer favourites.
They include traditional Romanian dishes such as cabbage rolls with polenta, mashed beans with sausages and chicken liver with polenta.
From the charcoal grill, customers can choose from a large choice of grilled beef, chicken, lamb, fish, pork and sausage dishes, while pasta meals include Spaghetti Carbonara and Garlic Prawn Spaghetti.
The chefs have been developing the restaurant’s menus over the past few days.
Emily said: “We have been changing and updating our menu to adjust to the feedback that we have received from our customers. So we now have a new menu out with more surprises.
“As an offer In the morning we serve free freshly ground coffee with every full English breakfast for £7.49.
“Our full English breakfast is very appreciated as well as we cook most of it on the grill and we had the pleasant surprise to have people coming back to us after they have tried it once.
“We have the mighty platter for two people for just £25.99 instead of £29.99 – customers can get grilled lamb, pork, chicken, sausages and two sides.
“We have also been working on our vegetarian menu.
“Customers also say that they have enjoyed the time spent in our restaurant as it is has a cosy atmosphere.

“We are also now on the Southport’s Eats platform for takeaway orders, or customers can ring us on 01704 537503 to place an order for takeaway.”
With the current situation, ensuring the restaurant is fully Covid secure is vitally important to Emily and her family.
She said: “We constantly sterilise everywhere to make sure that our customers feel safe.
“We have a number of important Covid measures in place and we have also used a company, A1, to come inside to use their machines for a full location sterilisation.”
