A doctor with “an awesome patient manner” has been honoured for his work at Southport and Ormskirk hospitals.
Dr Khalil Wahdati is among NHS colleagues who have won a Time To Shine Award at a glittering ceremony at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa.
Beloved by all members of the Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) team, Dr Wahdati, who won the Compassion in Action Award, is described as a “great clinician with an awesome patient manner.’’
His unwavering commitment to his patients and colleagues is exemplary, and his energy and enthusiasm makes him a constant source of inspiration.
A Finalist in the category is Lynn Cunningham.
Lynn is someone who is always helpful, friendly and dedicated to offering the best patient care possible. She welcomes patients with a huge smile and goes the extra mile to help everyone who enters the radiology department, including her colleagues who love her bubbly personality. Lynn is a credit to the Trust.
Also honoured is the Medical Day Unit.
Staff on the Medical Day Unit provide outstanding care for some of our most vulnerable patients who are going through chemotherapy and other complex treatments.
This dedicated team supports both patients and their loved ones with kindness and empathy and families tell us they are incredibly grateful for the compassion and dignified care provided.
Individuals and teams from a wide range of areas were celebrated for their “amazing commitment’’ to providing the best possible care for local patients and their families at the 2023 Time to Shine Awards.
It was hosted by Liverpool radio personality Peter Price while sponsors included Vinci Facilities, Hill Dickinson and Weightmans.
Chief Executive Ann Marr OBE said: I have been highly impressed by all of the inspiring nominations we received from colleagues, patients and members of the public and the message I would like to pass on is that you should never underestimate the difference you make to those around you, each and every day.’’
