Time To Shine Awards. Non Clinical team of the Year - Access and Booking Team

The team behind the scenes who ensure the smooth running of services at Southport Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital have been thanked for everything they do.

The Access and Booking Team members were delighted to win the Non-Clinical Team of the Year trophy at the 2023 Time To Shine Awards.

The glittering event, hosted by Pete Price, was held at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa.

The dedicated and hard-working Access and Booking Team is key to the smooth running of hospital services in both Southport and Ormskirk.

Their role in making appointments, taking enquiries from patients, setting up clinics and scheduling theatre slots means they are vital to the organisation and are highly respected by the teams they work with.

Finalist in this year’s awards was the Capital Projects Team.

Anything is possible for the NHS employees in this hard-working group, who juggle multiple projects, constantly improve the hospital estate and enhance the trust’s environment.

They take the time to truly understand the issues and do everything they can to solve any problems.

The Trust is incredibly grateful to have a team like this which puts patients and staff needs at the heart of everything they do.

The Roster Co-ordinators were also honoured as a Finalist.

Throughout what has been an incredibly difficult couple of years, the support of this hard-working team has been unwavering.

Significant demands on staffing as the hospitals aim to recover from the Covid pandemic, and the recent periods of industrial action, has meant that their resilience has been tested.

But their can-do attitude has never faltered and they continue to provide an excellent service.

Individuals and teams from a wide range of areas were celebrated for their “amazing commitment’’ to providing the best possible care for local patients and their families at the 2023 Time to Shine Awards.

It was hosted by Liverpool radio personality Peter Price while sponsors included Vinci Facilities, Hill Dickinson and Weightmans.

Chief Executive Ann Marr OBE said: I have been highly impressed by all of the inspiring nominations we received from colleagues, patients and members of the public and the message I would like to pass on is that you should never underestimate the difference you make to those around you, each and every day.’’
