Members of the medical team at Ormskirk Hospital who care for children when they are unwell have been celebrated for the amazing work they do every day.
NHS heroes in the The Paediatric Department were awarded the Everyday Excellence Award.
At the 2023 Time To Shine Awards.
The ceremony, held at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa, was presented by Pete Price.
All staff in the department embody the Trust’s values each and every day. Caring for some of our youngest patients, often with complex conditions and needs, they go above and beyond to provide the highest standards of clinical and holistic care in some of the most difficult and challenging situations. They have been hailed as heroes by patients, families and carers.
A Finalist in the category was Emma Houghton.
Emma is always striving for excellence in the care delivered to patients at Southport and Ormskirk hospitals with a Learning Disability and / or Autism.
She works above and beyond to ensure patients and their carers are always involved and that reasonable adjustments are always made to ensure people receive the care needed with the least anxiety and disruption to their daily routine.
Also recognised as a Finalist was Mikhail Lawler.
Mikhail is simply exceptional in all he does while at work in the ED department.
Colleagues say he is “a delight to work with his can-do attitude and bubbly personality” which sees him constantly aim for excellence and provide wonderful care for patients every day.
Individuals and teams from a wide range of areas were celebrated for their “amazing commitment’’ to providing the best possible care for local patients and their families at the 2023 Time to Shine Awards.
It was hosted by Liverpool radio personality Peter Price while sponsors included Vinci Facilities, Hill Dickinson and Weightmans.
Chief Executive Ann Marr OBE said: I have been highly impressed by all of the inspiring nominations we received from colleagues, patients and members of the public and the message I would like to pass on is that you should never underestimate the difference you make to those around you, each and every day.’’
