Wayfarers shopping arcade in Southport is hosting its second Makers Market this Saturday (4th December).
The market coincides with this year’s Small Business Saturday.
There will be 27 traders inside the arcade selling exclusive and desirable gifts for Christmas at affordable prices.
The first event, which took place last Saturday, was a hit with shoppers.
Speaking on Stand Up For Southport, Kaz Tindell-Watkins said: “What a great idea to put it in the arcade.”
Jane Cav said: “I went last Saturday – great stalls and lots of variety.”
Sorcha Mai O’Brien said: “I went last Saturday with no money so made a mental note of what I’ll be buying this weekend haha! It’s fab! And Wayfarers Arcade looks so pretty with all the decorations!”
Visitors from far and wide enjoy the exclusive atmosphere of Wayfarers Shopping Arcade, Lord Street Southport, especially during the festive period when it is dressed in its festive finery.
This year the 120-year-old Victoria arcade is going to have animated figures and be lit up with thousands of lights.
This Saturday also sees the launch of this year’s Santa’s Grotto at Wayfarers Arcade, which has already sold out. A limited number of tickets remain for the Frozen Grotto at the arcade later this month.
The events are part of a range of Christmas attractions appearing in Southport this December, with a Gingerbread Trail, a Trail of Trees, the UK’s first Digital Christmas Experience, and much more besides.
Attending the craft fair at Wayfarers Shopping Arcade is a great opportunity to support local businesses and get that Christmas list sorted.
Centre Manager, Yvonne Burns said: “We have long been known for supporting smaller enterprises. Most of our tenants are independent small businesses. But as it is the festive season, we want to reach out and support other local, small enterprises that have interesting goods to sell.
“The 4th December is Small Business Saturday and we have decided to enable smaller businesses to be part of this special day.”
