Ukulele Buddies

Ukulele Buddies recently performed a special concert at Fleetwood Hesketh Sports and Social Club in Marshside in Southport to raise funds for their nominated charity Southport Kidney Fund.

The fun packed evening featured Ukulele Buddies and Manchester based singer Lindsey J performing two sets, plus a buffet dinner and a raffle to end all raffles, prizes included holidays, a VIP day at Old Trafford and even a ukulele.

When hearing about the tremendous financial success of the evening Erica Stanley at Southport Kidney Fund shared: “This is wonderful, we thank you ever so much for all your hard work, going into such an incredible event, it was fantastically well put together, you were all amazing. This donation will help so many patients and make a great difference.”

Ian Hill from Ukulele Buddies said: “The donations will help kidney patients pay their heating bills in the winter and contribute to their travel costs for hospital appointments.  Kidney patients feel the cold more than other people and Southport Kidney Fund help by giving them allowances in line with the Government grants to retired people.  Individuals who attend dialysis do so three times a week which can be very costly.  In addition we buy medical equipment to make life easier for them.

“Fleetwood Hesketh Sports and Social Club did an excellent job providing the venue and bar facilities for the event and shared ‘It was a cracker!”

Raffle prizes were donated by Lancashire Manor, Mr S Hopkins, Graham Eyes Butchers, Crown Plaza Stratford Upon Avon, Natalia Dainty, Mr L Walters, Mrs J Woodward, Mr D Yoxall of the Queens Hotel, Chester, Claire Lockhart from Woodside Vintage Inn and Kellie Ann from Lancashire Cricket Club.
