The Old Bank in Southport has revealed its plans for its first New Year’s Eve celebration.

The stylish bar and restaurant on Lord Street, right at the heart of Southport town centre, opened last month following a stunning £100,000 transformation and the creation of 24 new jobs.

The Old Bank has now launched its ‘Countdown to 2022’ plans for New Year’s Eve with guests invited to see in the new year with a special disco themed event.

The Old Bank Social Media and Events Manager Amber Sardinha said: “We are hosting our first ever event and we can’t wait to get the word out there about it!

“The event is called ‘Countdown to 2022’ and if you haven’t guessed already, it is a New Year’s Eve event.

“From 7pm on 31st December 2021 guests can expect a night of drinking, music, dancing and celebrating the new year in style.

“With a disco themed event planned, we’re throwing it back in time to give our guests the ultimate New Year’s celebration.

“We will be closing at 1am instead on this occasion to see the New Year in. The event is 7pm-1am.

“With entertainment and countdown surprises planned, this event will be the biggest New Years Eve celebration Southport has to offer.”

The Old Bank, one of Southport’s most striking landmarks, has had a huge response from people since opening on 19th November.

Amber said: “The response since opening has been great, each week we seem to be getting busier. We have just launched our bottomless lunch offer which seems to be getting booked up and we’re glad to be offering a great selection of drinks as part of that. Usually bottomless brunch offerings are limited to Prosecco however we are offering lager, espresso martinis, wines, Prosecco and Liquor 43.

“We are working on some really great menus to keep the guests coming back. For example we are launching a lunch menu, Christmas menu and weekly specials. We are also on Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

“We’ve had fantastic reviews about the quality of food and service! Not forgetting the kids’ ‘build your own pizzas’ which have been a hit!

“With all that being said, our New Year’s Eve event has taken a lot of planning and we can’t wait to spread the word! This is just the start!”

The Old Bank is open from 11am each morning and into the night, with a delicious menu that makes the most of the venue’s top quality pizza ovens.

The new bar and restaurant is owned by Alexandra Myhill and Bernie Snagg, who have worked hard to create something new and exciting for our town.

Two amazing pieces of street art adorn the walls. One features Sean Connery as James Bond, from the movie Goldfinger, above the bar. Another is a huge, colourful portrait of The Queen next to the mezzanine area, tying in with The Old Bank theme.

Guests can enjoy a choice of tasty pizza with flavours including margherita, pepperoni, four cheese, Italian sausage, meat feast, Pacific or puttanesca.

Salads include classic caprese, Caesar or hot smoked salmon, while there are a choice of sides such as skin on fries, parmesan fries, garlic pizza and pizza oven roast potatoes.

Bar bites include Amaranto olives, baked focaccia and crispy gnocchi, with starters including calamari, stuffed baked figs and tempura courgette planks.

There are an incredible 18 draught beers and ciders on tap, with an extensive wine list, a selection of spirits and a range of cocktails.

The Old Bank is at 253 Lord Street, Southport, PR8 1NY. Phone 01512451550 or email: enquiries@theoldbanksouthport.co.uk
