Cam Mason has been awarded the title of 2021/22 Southport FC Supporters Player Of The Year.

Cam was presented with his award on the pitch ahead of the game against AFC Telford on Saturday afternoon by the organiser of the supporters coach travel this season, Dan Bond.

Cam was pushed all the way by Adam Anson, Doug Tharme and Jack Bainbridge but every player received votes.

Dan Bond said: “It was an honour to present the award on Saturday. Thanks for the opportunity and massive congratulations to Cam for winning.

“All of the squad has been fantastic this season as they’ve given their all, every game.” 

Speaking on the Southport FC Facebook page, Neil Leatherbarrow wrote: “Both done a great job this season, a big well done to both.”

Southport FC drew 1-1 with AFC Telford on Saturday, their 11th home draw of the season bringing the 2021/22 home campaign to an end.

It was a keenly fought game with the visitors in desperate need of the points to avoid relegation.
