Children from Southport, Formby & Crosby Babyballet classes enjoyed showcasing their dancing skills all week with a Danceathon fundraiser for pregnancy and baby charity, Tommy’s.
Pre-school dancers from 6 months were sponsored to complete dancing challenges in a Rainbow themed event during their classes held at:
* DBA School of Dance, 140 Cambridge Road, Churchtown
* Playtown Ocean Plaza, Southport
* St Nicholas Church in Crosby
Inspired by the bright colours of the rainbow, children were dressing up for the class too!
Together with 30,000 Babyballet dancers from across the UK, the Southport, Formby & Crosby stars have already exceeded their aim to raise £350,000 for Tommy’s.
This could fund all of the research studies and data science experts at a vital Tommy’s research centre for almost 9 months.
Half of all adults in the UK have experienced baby loss or know someone who has. Tommy’s is committed to saving babies’ lives, funding medical research and supporting families through every part of their pregnancy journey.
Jennifer Berrett owner of Babyballet Southport Formby & Crosby said:
“All of us at Babyballet have been really enjoying taking part in the Danceathon.
“We are amazed that our running total here in Southport has already gone over £4,000!
“Just an incredible amount to have raised already, and of course our amazing team of talented Babyballet Teachers, Miss Rebekah, Miss Georgina, Miss Katherine, Miss Isabella and Miss Emma give all the children a really engaging and exciting class, whilst they fundraise to help save babies’ lives.”
