A budding young artist has raised more than £1,500 for Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals after selling her pictures around the globe.
Running out of things to draw while on lockdown; Seren Farrington started to ask friends and relatives for inspiration via Facebook and over the phone.
This led to her having the idea of selling her “commissioned” work to help raise money for the fight against Covid-19.
The inspirational eight-year-old started selling her work to uncles and aunties, but after sending out a short video message on social media the orders came tumbling in.
Drafting in help from her younger brother Wade, (6) the pair set about fulfilling the commissions and in the process raised £1,525 in a matter of days – which they have now donated to Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.

Proud mum Sarah, said: “Seren busy drawing pictures during the first few weeks of lockdown. She was off school and starting to run out of ideas for things to draw. That’s when she started getting in touch with family and friends who were willing to pay to help raise money for the NHS.
“We then started getting requests coming in from all over the world, including; New Zealand, Germany, South Africa, Florida, Spain, Finland and many more. The biggest donation for one drawing was £250 from a generous donor in Australia.
“We are so grateful of the work the NHS and our key workers are doing, but also so proud of Seren for using her love of drawing to raise money and help such a worthy cause. This is her, and our, way of saying a great big thank you to the NHS and everyone at Southport and Ormskirk.”

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, Charity Manager, Ashley Flint, said: “Seren has done an amazing job by using her talent to produce such beautiful pictures to raise money for the hospital and we are very grateful for her support.
“Her pictures of; dogs, rainbows, boats, superheroes, spaghetti-monsters, Mine-Craft characters, unicorns, lamas and many more have brought not only happiness to the people who have ordered them, but also a lot of money to help the Trust through the Covid 19 pandemic. Seren and her brother Wade should be very pleased and proud of themselves.”
