It’s time to show your appreciation for the businesses of Southport town centre by voting in this year’s Your Southport Stars Awards.

A record number of businesses are nominated this year, with 92 organisations recognised across 11 sector-specific categories.

People can vote now in the People’s Choice Award by choosing the business they feel are most deserving in each category.

Vote now via www.southportbid.com/stars25.

The Stars Awards are organised by Southport BID to celebrate the vital contribution and positive impact of Southport town centre businesses.

June The Florist, Volare, and Southport Bijou Cinema were amongst the winners in 2024.  The Plant Room took home the New Business of the Year award.  The top gong went to The Vincent Hotel as Business of the Year.

In a slight change, there are two awards up for grabs in each category this year.

The business with the most public votes will receive the People’s Choice Award.  The Business Leaders Award will be decided by a panel; honouring a business that has had an extraordinary year over the last twelve months.

There’s also the big prize of Business of the Year and the New Business of the Year award which celebrates recently established venues.

The Innovation Award will recognise a business or development that is contributing to the progression on Southport’s economy.  The Special Recognition Award will honour a business or organisation that has contributed positively to the town centre over the last twelve months.

Winners will be announced during the awards reception at The Grand on Tuesday May 13, when businesses will come together to mark the achievements of the last twelve months.

Voting closes on Friday 2 May.

Rachel Fitzgerald, Southport CEO said: “We’re excited for the return of the Your Southport Stars Awards.  It’s the perfect opportunity to put the spotlight on the town centre business community.

We are delighted with the way in which BID businesses have embraced the Stars Awards.  There was a great sense of friendly competition across the town centre last year!

The 2024 awards were the best yet, but we’re hoping this year will be even bigger.  Make sure to cast your vote and show your love for Southport town centre businesses!”
