Sarah Pedder from Southport

A woman who praised the “amazing” staff who cared for her when she was ill in Southport Hospital has committed to doing a skydive to raise money for charity.

Sarah Pedder, who works at Dunelm at Ocean Plaza in Southport, is asking people to donate to her fundraiser for the Chest, Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A talented photographer, many will recognise the stunning pictures that Sarah regularly posts in the Stand Up For Southport Facebook group.

She will be leaping out of an aircraft at 11,000ft with UK Skydiving Adventures Ltd at the Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham in Lancashire on Sunday, 21st November.

Sarah said: “This is my first skydive. I’m petrified but also excited!

“I have always wanted to do something for charity so what better way to experience the thrill of a skydive at the same time.”

Sarah was inspired to take on her daring challenge after she was rushed into Southport Hospital three weeks ago.

She said: “I was recently in hospital with stomach and chest pains. The NHS staff there were brilliant.

“I’m OK now, it turned out to be an infection on the lining of my stomach. I was put on medication for 28 days, they are helping.

“The pain was scary – I have never had pain like that before.

“It’s ongoing, but I’m feeling a lot better than I did when I was admitted to hospital.

“The staff were amazing, I can’t fault the NHS at all.

“Also, someone close to my heart, her dad has suffered a lot of strokes. He’s such a true gent and is her hero, who doesn’t deserve it. So I want to help any way I can by raising the money to help this foundation to help patients.

“Any donations over the £510 limit will be split in many ways to other charities such as Cancer Research, Animal Rescue, Mental Health and Cystic Fibrosis.

“I’ve always wanted to do something for charity and also wanted to do a skydive, so what better way of doing both together! I always want to help where possible if I’m doing something that’s probably once in a lifetime or on my bucket list.

“Thank you everyone for all your support! Let’s do this, fingers crossed I can raise the amount!”

  6. Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.

  7. You could certainly see your expertise in the work you write. The arena hopes for even more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid to mention how they believe.
