A North West multi academy trust, and one of the schools it runs, has been shortlisted for four awards.
Endeavour Learning Trust, which runs eleven schools across the North West, has been shortlisted for ‘Most Inspirational Multi Academy Trust’ in this year’s Educate Awards.
Tarleton Academy has also been shortlisted for most inspirational secondary school.
Meanwhile, the Trust’s Director of Special Educational Needs, Donna Waring, has been shortlisted for ‘SEND Leader of the Year’ and Endeavour’s Chair Helen Dicker has been shortlisted for Governor of the Year in the National School Awards.
Helen has been involved with Tarleton Academy for over 25 years, while Donna has been helping to transform education for SEND pupils across the North-West for years.
Tarleton Academy, which was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2023 at its last inspection, has been shortlisted after several years of work to transform the school from good to best in class.
Under the leadership of Executive Head Scott Parker, the school has introduced new plans for SEND pupils and those struggling with attendance, transforming the school’s pastoral care offering.
The school was also one of the first to bring in Yondr pouches, effectively banning mobile phones for pupils in school. The effects were immediate and transformative, resulting in calmer, happier pupils.
