Southport’s first Pokémon Card Show takes place between 11am and 5pm this Saturday (29th August 2026) at Southport Market.
You can discover 25 Pokémon vendors bringing Pokémon trading cards, handmade items and more.
The HARP Southport Pokémon Card Show is free to attend and a great way of enjoying the August Bank Holiday weekend.
This special event is organised by local dad-of-four Nicky McCoy, the owner of HARP Coffee & Games on nearby King Street in Southport, which has become a popular venue for regular Pokémon events.
Nick said: “Our Saturday Pokémon Club grew into a community. Craft clubs and swap meets came next. Then that community quickly grew into a monthly local card show.
“That community has now grown into Southport’s FIRST Pokémon Card Show.
“Vendor spaces sold out within minutes. Early access tickets nearly sold out a week before the event. It has exceeded all expectations.
“Southport is ready for this, are you?
“Pokemon is something that has been growing and growing and growing.
“They have really big Pokémon shows in places like Liverpool, Manchester and Wigan, but we’ve never had anything like that here in Southport, which is a shame.
“I spoke with Jordan Khokhar, the General Manager at Southport Market, and he was really keen to support our idea. He has been brilliant to work with.
“So I’m delighted to be staging our first Pokémon Card Show at Southport Market this Saturday.
“All the traders we have are either from Southport, or are pretty close to Southport.
“Some of the people coming are coming for the first time, so it’s a good opportunity for them.
“The event is completely free – we wanted it to be really affordable and accessible.
“With it being held at Southport Market it’s in a really accessible space, and somewhere which is close to public transport such as Southport Train Station or local bus stops, or cycling or walking.
“Southport Market is a fabulous venue with lots of great food and drink traders inside who will all be open on the day, and lots of superb local businesses in the Market Quarter area too – including HARP Coffee & Games! It’s a great area.
“There has been huge interest, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
