Southport’s Dancing Santa has waved farewell after another busy year entertaining families across the town!
Santa and his volunteers from Southport Hesketh Round Table have taken their Santa Sleigh on tours around dozens of local streets in Southport and beyond throughout December.
They have brought lots of festive cheer and put smiles on children’s faces, giving away armfuls of sweets while also collecting thousands of pounds which will go towards local charities.
There used to be three round table groups covering Southport, but Southport Hesketh is the last one remaining – they have a big area to cover and work hard to reach as many roads as they can.
A Southport Hesketh Round Table spokesperson said: “So, we may be a bit quieter this week, that’s because Santa and his elves are enjoying some well deserved R&R after three full weeks of the Santa Float.

“Here’s some quick stats for you though:
* 15 nights out in the cold, rain and wind.
* Most of Southport and surrounding areas covered.
* Over 60+ miles covered
* £300 worth of sweets given away
* 17 charity groups assisted
* Over 20,000 kids and families seen.
* 1,000s of Southport families danced and flossed with Santa.
* OVER £7,000 raised for local charities and community projects.
* Countless Smiles and happy faces = PRICELESS.
