Southport Rugby Football Club are hoping to attract their biggest home crowd of the season when ‘Super Saturday’ takes place this Saturday! (2nd April).
Admission is free as the First XV play their final home game of the 2021/22 season in the North Two West league.
It promises to be a superb weekend of rugby across the age groups at the club, on Waterloo Road.
Southport’s Veterans team, Shipwrecks, play Congleton Kodiaks and Kenilworth Pirates at midday; the Under 13s play Aspull at 1.30pm; and then the First XV play St Benedicts RUFC at 3pm.
A Southport RFC spokesperson said: “We are targeting the biggest home crowd of the season, as the First XV host St Benedicts RUFC on Saturday 2 April 2022.
“Join us for what is expected to be a bustling day at Southport RFC as the First XV play their final home game of the 2021/22 season against Cumbrian counterparts, St Benedicts in North Two West action. As always, it is FREE ENTRY at Waterloo Road.
“We are also delighted to be hosting touring veteran teams Congleton Kodiaks & Kenilworth Pirates in a friendly for the first game of Shipwrecks season.
“It will be all hands on deck too, as the Second XV and Third XV are also in action away from home against Aspull Second XV and Preston Grasshoppers Fifth XV respectively.
“Saturday will also see the Under 13s on lookout as they host Aspull following the old salt and prior to the voyage of the Black Pearl.
