Excitement is building ahead of the 100th anniversary Southport Flower Show this August – and Southport residents can save a huge £11 per ticket off the gate price with a special discount for local residents.

Southport Flower Show – the largest independent flower show in the UK – is organised each year by the Southport Flower Show charity, which uses proceeds from the annual event to maintain the 34 acre park for people in the town to enjoy.

Organisers are once again offering a substantial money-off discount for anyone residing in the PR8 or PR9 postcodes of Southport, with additional venues now added this year to make the collection of tickets easier for families.

Southport Flower Show is sponsored by Seventy Ninth Group.

General Manager Alan Adams said:

“Southport Flower Show is Southport’s premier event, with proceeds reinvested back into our town.

“We want to give something back to local residents who have supported the Show over so many years. No other event does anything like this.

“With this offer, which is exclusive to people living in the PR8 or PR9 postcodes in Southport, you could save £11 each on the gate price. That means you pay just £18 instead of the gate price of £29.

“With children under 16 going free with paying adults at Southport Flower Show, a family of four could enjoy a full day of entertainment for just £36, which we believe is fantastic value.

“The discounted tickets will be available until 14th August only, but will not be available once the Show begins, so make sure you get yours now!

“Sales locally are going really well already. We are very pleased with the response.

“This year is the 100th anniversary of Southport Flower Show, and we would love to see as many local residents come and join us as possible. You have got to come and see this one!

“We have so many great show gardens, exhibitors, celebrity gardeners, TV personalities, events and attractions for everyone to enjoy. It is going to be very special. It’s a busy show this year!

“All you need to do is visit one of the venues selling Southport Flower Show tickets along with proof of residence.

“They include: The Atkinson, on Lord Street; The Lions Shop on Liverpool Road in Ainsdale; RS Fine Chocolate on Botanic Road in Churchtown; and Busy Bodies on Liverpool Road in Birkdale. We’ve specifically chosen locations in different parts of the town.

Charlotte Buckingham, the Marketing Manager at The Atkinson in Southport, said:

“The Atkinson is a longstanding partner of Southport Flower Show and we are pleased to offer PR8 and PR9 residents tickets over the counter in our library, shop and box office until 14th August 2024. Just remember your proof of address!

“The centenary show will be a very special occasion for the town.

“If you’d like to learn more about the history of Southport Flower Show head up to our local history museum, Between Land and Sea, where vintage posters and archive photographs are on display.

“On Thursday 15th August 2024 we are also hosting a free Southport Flower Show themed craft workshop for kids.”

Southport Flower Show, sponsored by Seventy Ninth Group is the UK’s largest independent flower show and attracts over 55,000 visitors every year. It will take place over four days from Thursday 15th August to Sunday 18th August 2024.
