Volunteers from Southport Hesketh Round Table have now raised over £50,000 for families devastated by the recent tragedy in Southport.
The attack at the Hart Space on 29th July saw three young girls killed with several children and adults severely injured.
Within 24 hours of the horror, Round Table members had set up a Go Fund Me appeal to support the families which people can donate to here: https://gofund.me/9e7a67c2.
Mar Foreman from Southport Hesketh Round Table said: “Hi Southport,we have raised over £50,000 for the families affected in July’s tragic events.
“So a massive thank you to everyone that has helped, shared and donated to this.
“We have been in direct contact with most of the families all through the Family Liaison Officers and are waiting for the last few before sending those well-needed donations to them all.
“If anyone has any questions at all please get in contact with us.”
The volunteers from Southport Hesketh Round Table are renowned for their fundraising efforts in our town through beloved events such as the yearly Santa Float, BBC1’s Children In Need Day, and the Mad Dog 10K.
The Southport Hesketh Round Table consistently raises thousands of pounds for local charities and community projects.
Now, more than ever, they have reached out to people’s generosity to help heal and rebuild our community.
Marc Foremansaid: “The gravity of this atrocity is indescribable as we are still coming to terms with it. Our community has been deeply shaken, and as a charity based in this tight-knit community, we all know someone affected by this.
“For further information or to offer additional support, please reach out to us. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who have been so profoundly affected.”
