People can enjoy a fantastic night of entertainment at Southport Pleasureland this weekend.

The attraction, on Marine Drive in Southport, is hosting its first ever Festival of Fantastic Machines event this Saturday and Sunday (September 25th and 26th).

And from 5pm this Saturday evening (September 26th), Southport Pleasureland is inviting people to join them for a night of great entertainment.

Entertainment includes: Brown en Blonde; David Lonsdale; John Coates; Alistair Lee; Abba; and Snake Eyes.

There will be free entry for all Pleasureland guests who have already purchased a ticket for the day, or people can pay £5 on the gate.

Vintage machines of every conceivable shape and size have already been rolling into town as Southport Pleasureland prepares for its Festival of Fantastic Machines this Saturday and Sunday.

Interspersed with the park’s rides and attractions, visitors can expect to enjoy the Festival’s steam and vintage rally, tour its vintage and ‘exceptional’ vehicles, wonder at a quirky collection of fairground organs, inspect a collection of military vehicles and let off some steam of their own on the park’s rides.

Southport Pleasureland CEO Norman Wallis said: “We have scoured the length and breadth of the country in search of the weird and wonderful, and we have a real show-stopper of an event.

“The park is the ideal location for the Festival and it’s the perfect opportunity for us Brits to indulge our passion for all things mechanical.

“Southport has a strong history built around steam and speed.  The resort is no stranger to pushing the envelope with fantastic machines either, Southport is home to a land speed record set in 1926.”

The fantastic event also includes motorbikes and will offer plenty to see and do.

In the first event of its kind at Pleasureland, the park is predicting a big turnout for its Big Weekend.

The new-to-Southport event has been timed to coincide with the town’s British Musical Fireworks Championships which takes place on Friday, 24th September; Saturday, 25th September; and Sunday, 26th September. Visitors can plan for a day-through-to-evening experience for friends and family.

Day tickets for general admission for the Festival of Fantastic Machines at Southport Pleasureland are £24.50 for those using the park’s rides and £12.99 for non-riders. Children under 90cm go free.
