The world of work is changing, thanks to the Covid pandemic.

Since the first Coronavirus lockdown came into force in March last year millions of people have suddenly found themselves working either completely or predominantly from home.

As lockdown restrictions ease workers are not quite sure what the year ahead holds, which is a particular issue for working parents.

A Southport nursery in a beautiful setting is offering to help, by being flexible with the hours which it offers.

Lakeside Pre-School, formerly Elim Pre-School, also has the advantage of boasting the best views of possibly any nursery in the North West, with the facility being situated right next door to the Marine Lake in Southport.

Manager Vicky Copeland said: “Lots of people are working from home now, far more than before the pandemic began.

“People might consider placing their children at Lakeside Pre-School because of our flexible hours.

“Lots of other nurseries are very rigid about which hours you have to attend.”

The nursery is inviting people to find out more about them at an Open Day this weekend.

Vicky Copeland said: “We are so excited for our Open Day that is happening this coming Saturday the 15th May!

“Don’t forget if you would like to book on to our Open Day please call us on 07735699828 to book a time slot between 2pm and 4pm. We are so looking forward to meeting you all.

“People in Southport sometimes don’t know where we are, or what we have to offer.

“We used to be based on Manchester Road but then we moved to our present site eight years ago.

“In September we decided to change the name to Lakeside Pre-School.

“Because of our location not many people know about us! Hopefully our Open Day this weekend can help us to get our name out there.

“We have had a busy year, working throughout the pandemic.

“Being situated right next to the beautiful Marine Lake is a really lovely setting to have.

“We have the best views in town!

“We have a really good sized room for the children to enjoy too. When we are back up and going properly soon, the cafe will be back open. We have Mums and Tots groups running upstairs too.

“We have free parking right outside, and we try to be flexible in meeting the needs of the parents. Some nurseries can be quite rigid. People can just come to use and use their funded hours.

“Because we are term time only, we also have the benefit of continuity of staff.

“I think that is very important for children – it makes a massive difference to them. The staff we have here have also been with us for a long time so they are very familiar with the children we have here.

“If anyone can’t make it down for our Open Day, we also have a Virtual Tour on our website.”

Lakeside Pre-School is a place where two to four year olds can learn and develop in a fun and exciting environment.

The nursery is open Monday to Friday and has recently extended its hours, now open from 8.45am through to 3.30pm during school term time.

We are a welcoming setting based in a large, light and airy room that is fully equipped to encourage children to grow, develop and reach their full potential.

Lakeside Pre-School is part of a vibrant community within Lakeside Church.

It has a small team of highly qualified, experienced, caring and friendly staff with extensive special needs experience in providing the best possible care for all children and for families who may require additional support due to a medical, developmental or a disability.

The nursery is term time only to coincide with Sefton schools, while the Pre-School day has school hours for convenience.
