Queenscourt Hospice is celebrating another hugely successful Star Trekk, after a record-breaking 2,000 walkers came together on Friday 8th May 2026 for the charity’s much-loved annual night walk around Southport.
The event, which started from Adventure Coast Southport, has already raised an incredible £180,000, with sponsorship still coming in.
The total makes this year’s Star Trekk the most successful in the event’s 20-year history.

Participants of all ages took part in the sponsored walk, creating an unforgettable atmosphere across the town as the community came together to support local hospice care.
Queenscourt Hospice would like to extend sincere thanks to Adventure Coast Southport for once again providing the perfect venue to host the event and for generously opening rides for trekkers to enjoy before the walk began.

Special thanks also go to this year’s event sponsors: Specsavers Southport, EFT Group, Southport and Formby Health, Hillside Golf Club and Slimming World with Dee, whose support helped make the event possible.
The hospice would also like to thank the fantastic entertainers who helped create such a memorable evening, including Hayley Murray Music, Ian Lawson Photography, BOS Musical Theatre, Sarah Dack McGuiness, Connected Voices Choir, Make Noise Choir, and Kelly Bond.

Along the route, walkers received an incredible welcome from local businesses and community groups including Silcock’s Funland, Specsavers Southport, Ivy Gate Lodge, St Philips and St Pauls Church, The Richmond and Group 1 Toyota, as well as the many amazing businesses throughout Birkdale who came out to support the event.
A special mention goes to Samuels & Co, who generously handed out more than 1,600 free hot chocolates to trekkers on the night, which was hugely appreciated by participants.

Queenscourt Hospice also extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible team of volunteers who supported the event, helping with registration and marshalling the route to ensure walkers stayed safe throughout the evening.
Additional thanks go to Nationwide Produce for supplying fresh fruit for participants, and to Morrisons Southport and Northwest Wholesale for donating bottled water.

Alex Hegarty, Event Fundraiser at Queenscourt Hospice, said:
“We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support shown for this year’s Star Trekk.
“To see 2,000 people come together in support of Queenscourt Hospice was incredibly special, and raising more than £180,000 so far is simply amazing.

“Events like this would not be possible without our sponsors, volunteers, entertainers, local businesses and every single person who signed up and took part.
“The atmosphere throughout the evening was unforgettable, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make Star Trekk 2026 such a huge success. Roll on 2027!”

Funds raised through Star Trekk will help Queenscourt Hospice continue providing specialist palliative care and support for local patients and their families across West Lancashire, Southport and Formby.
