The Southport Meat Company has been awarded second place in the prestigious UK National Sausage Championships, for their ‘made with love’ porkies (traditional pork sausages).
The competition was judged by top chefs, butchers and food critics.
The ceremony took place in the prestigious Butcher’s Hall in London.
There were over 500 entries from sausage manufacturers across the UK.
Chris Stead and Howard Callaghan from Southport Meat Company said: “Being placed second is amazing and we are so proud of our achievement, but we won’t stop until we get to the top.
“We are gaining a great reputation in our area, supplying golf clubs, hotels, restaurants, schools and cafes.
“Our dedicated team consists of three chefs, a master butcher, an award winning butcher and our skilled sausage maker who has been producing our award winning sausages since 2007.
