Christmas came to Southport Market in style when a crowd of people enjoyed a festive Comedy Bingo Winter Social.
Don’t worry if you missed it – they’re hosting another one in the week before Christmas!
The popular fun events are organised by Big Comedy UK to help tackle isolation in the local community and encourage people to come out and put a smile on their faces during these cold, dark winter days.
The Winter Socials are sponsored by Halliwell Jones MINI as part of their MINI Big Love campaign.
A team from Halliwell Jones MINI enjoyed a MINI adventure of their own as they called into Southport Market to join in the fun.
Event organiser Brendan Riley said: “It was a fantastic event. We had a great crowd in, with around 80 people, which made for a lovely festive atmosphere. It was brilliant to see everyone there.
“We had some very happy bingo winners too on the day, thanks to generous support from local businesses which supplied prizes.
“I’d like to thank the likes of Tapper’s Cafe; Vue Cinema; Crystal Clear Opticians; Southport Flower Show; The Atkinson, which donated panto tickets; FenneeKay Hair & Beauty; and the Sefton Council team at Southport Market.
“They provided a great mix of prizes, all of which encourage our winners to be able to get out and about again, which works really well with what our Winter Socials is all about.
“We enjoyed having the team from Halliwell Jones MINI with us for this one.
“They had a really fun time, it was a great afternoon.
“This was our first Christmas Comedy Bingo Winter Social – we are back at Southport Market on Wednesday 18th December 2024, exactly one week before Christmas, when we’ll be completely Christmassy!
“We’ll be playing all your favourite Christmas tunes; we’ll get everyone singing along; we’ll bring the festive spirit.
“Christmas jumpers and hats are welcome!
“It’s superb value for an afternoon out, with tickets just £3 each, which includes a free drink, and all your bingo cards.
“Southport Market is looking beautiful this December with its Christmas tree, Santa’s Sleigh and all the Christmas decorations up.
“This will be our last Comedy Bingo Winter Social until Wednesday 29th January 2025 when they start up again.
“They’ll then run through into the Spring, all kindly sponsored by Halliwell Jones MINI, who are supporting us in our campaign to tackle social isolation, support people’s mental health, bring our community together, and put smiles on people’s faces this winter.”
The Christmas Comedy Bingo Winter Social sees doors open at Southport Market, on King Street in Southport town centre, at 1pm, with the show starting at 1.30pm and finishing at 3.30pm on Wednesday 18th December 2024.
Tickets cost £3 each and include all the bingo cards you need, in addition to a free cup of tea, cup of coffee, glass of wine or glass of lager.

Tickets can also be bought on the door on the day of the events, subject to availability.
