Southport FC CEO Adrian Hunter

Southport FC has announced the appointment of Adrian Hunter as the Interim Chief Executive Officer, welcoming in a new era of dynamic and experienced leadership for the club.

With a rich history spanning over 20 years in sports leadership and management, Adrian brings a wealth of expertise to Southport FC.

His strong financial background, paired with a keen understanding of maximising commercial revenues, optimising stadium utilisation, and providing day-to-day strategic leadership, positions him as a driving force in steering the club toward success.

He comes in at a tough time for the Sandgrounders, who are just two points above the National League North relegation zone after their fourth league defeat in a row at the Big Help Stadium on New Year’s Day.

Adrian Hunter said on his appointment:

“I’m delighted to be working with the owners to drive the club forward after the recent acquisition.

“The Club has huge potential. It’s clear there is a real desire to develop a strategy to move up the football ladder and I’m excited to play a part.”

Peter Mitchell, Chair of Southport FC, said:

“‘I’m thrilled to have Adrian on board. He is a hugely experienced and respected figure in the sporting world. I look forward to introducing him formally at our next soon-to-be-announced fans forum.
“The Interim appointment of Adrian Hunter highlights Southport FC’s dedication to achieving growth and success in both performance and strategic development. The club looks forward to a bright future under Adrian’s leadership, building on its rich history and embracing the opportunities that are ahead.”
