Ella Ritchie from Southport has won Gold at the National Youth Development Female Championship.
The talented 17-year-old boxes for Southport Star Amateur boxing club.
Ella and her team travelled to Kettering to compete in the England boxing national development finals where she won convincingly in her contest.
Her coach is Adam Gallen, head coach at Southport stars amateur boxing club.
Adam has trained Ella ever since she was 13 years old when she came to the club as a complete beginner!
He said: “It’s a huge win for Ella, as a female, boxing in a male dominated sport.
“It’s a huge win for Southport too as Southport Star amateur boxing club continues to take huge strides, competing with the biggest boxing clubs in the region.
“Ella boxes again in her hometown, Saturday 23rd November 2024 in her hometown at the Southport Market, the same day as the Southport Festive Fun Day, before travelling to Leigh two weeks later to take part in the England Boxing winter box cup!”
