The opening date has been revealed for a top quality new fish and chip shop in Hesketh Bank in Lancashire.
Peet’s Traditional Fish and Chips will open at 19 Station Road, opposite Booths supermarket, on Tuesday, 13th December 2022.
The final preparations are being put into place at the old bank venue with owner Kevin Peet looking forward to welcoming his first customers.
The local fisherman, who has spent 40 years fishing off Southport and along the Lancashire coast, already runs his Peets Plaice fishmongers in Churchtown in Southport and will be sourcing the very freshest fish for his new chippy.
Kevin said: “We are looking forward to giving a very warm welcome to our first customers when we open our doors on Tuesday 13th December!
“We have put in a huge amount of work into transforming this place, and we hope people will enjoy seeing all the changes. Everything is new.
“We will be open seven days a week. From Monday through to Saturday, we will be open from 11.45am until 1.30pm. We will then be open between 4.30pm and 8pm.
“Every Sunday, when we will be serving our Sunday roast dinners, we will be open between midday and 5pm.”
Since he announced news of his new venture, Kevin has been inundated with messages of goodwill from people looking forward to the chippy opening, along with hundreds of messages of support on social media.

He said: “The reaction from people in Hesketh Bank and the surrounding areas has been unbelievable!
“Lots of people have been coming into the building asking us when we are going to be opening and telling us how much they are looking forward to it.
“What a lot of people have been saying is that they know the quality of our fish and chips is going to be really good, because they are customers at our Peets Plaice shop and they know how good the fish and seafood from there is.
“We have had so much positivity from people, and we can’t wait to open.”
Visitors to Peet’s Traditional Fish and Chips will be able to enjoy fish and chips with a twist, with a few welcome surprises including the renowned Peets Plaice Home Made Fish Pie – and Sunday roast dinners.
They will also be able to enjoy healthy options on the menu, including freshly smoked haddock and other fish which Kevin Peet smokes himself.
The venue will initially serve as a takeaway, with work being done to provide space for tables inside as well as creating an attractive new outdoor seating area in time for Spring and Summer.
Sarah Eatough will be the new Manager at the business.
Kevin Peet said: “Peet’s Traditional Fish and Chips will be open Tuesday to Saturday serving fish and chips, and then every Sunday we will be creating home-cooked roast dinners.
“People will be able to choose from a range of options. They will be able to phone up and order and then pick up their roast dinners to take home. It will be like a click and collect service.
“The chippy to start with will be a takeaway but our plans for Spring next year are to have tables and chairs inside, and a lovely outside area.”
