This year’s Star Trekk 2025 promises to be a night to remember — not only for the sea of walkers lighting up the Southport coastline, but for the powerful tribute it carries.
Queenscourt Hospice is proud to announce Southport and Formby Health as the official medal sponsor for this year’s event, walking in memory of their much-loved colleague and friend, Paul Ashby.
A founding member of Southport and Formby Health, Paul was more than a colleague — he was a dedicated leader, a champion of local healthcare, and a warm, inspiring presence.
Before joining the organisation, Paul served for over ten years as Practice Manager at Ainsdale Medical Centre, touching countless lives through his quiet dedication and compassion.
When Paul’s health declined, Queenscourt Hospice provided comfort and dignity in his final days.
Now, his colleagues are giving back in the most meaningful way they know how — by walking together in his memory, and ensuring others receive the same loving care.

“We are honoured to sponsor the Star Trekk walk in memory of our friend and colleague, Paul Ashby.
“He helped shape who we are. This event is our way of saying thank you to Queenscourt for the kindness they showed him, and for the incredible work they do every single day.”
A team of 30 colleagues from Southport and Formby Health will take to the streets in Paul’s honour, joined by his wife and daughter, who were invited to a special lunch with the team to share memories and celebrate his life.
