Southport Air Show

Southport Air Show fans will be able to enjoy the best views of the event from Southport Pier for the first time.

Tickets for the 2021 Air Show go on sale today (Friday 11 December) with aviation enthusiasts excited about the event’s return after its cancellation this year due to the Covid pandemic.

A brand new exclusive Pier Viewing ticket will also go on sale with limited availability for those who want to guarantee the very best views of the upcoming Southport Air Show.

To celebrate the return of the incredible Southport Air Show, general admission entry will now be completely free for Under 16s.

Spectators will once again be able to watch some of the world’s best aircraft at Southport Beach in 2021 with a mixture of classic World War II icons, aerobatic displays and fast jets. There will be lots to enjoy on the ground too with the Air Show Village, food and drink outlets and other attractions.

This year’s event takes place in the Summer, on Saturday July 3 and Sunday July 4, so it should be nice and warm for watching the event on the beach.

Sefton Council’s Tourism team, which also produces the British Musical Fireworks Championships and the Southport Food and Drink Festival, are working hard behind the scenes to put on a fantastic and safe calendar of family fun.

Tickets for both the 2021 Southport Air Show and British Musical Fireworks Championships go on sale from today (Friday, December 11) and are expected to sell out fast.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, welcomed the news, saying: “We are incredibly delighted to be able to put on our three flagship tourism events in 2021.

“Our Tourism team and partners have been working exceptionally hard to ensure we are able to bring this tantalising trio to Southport next year in a safe and secure way while guaranteeing fun for all the family.

“Tickets go on sale this week which will make an ideal Christmas present for the thousands of people who adore our events and sadly missed out on the opportunity this year.

“Entry to the Southport Food & Drink Festival remains completely free, while we have some incredible new offers and incentives for families at the Southport Air Show.

“We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to our beautiful borough in 2021 and we look forward to seeing you very soon.”

Dates for the three events are as follows:

Southport Food & Drink Festival: June 4-6

Southport Air Show: July 3-4

British Musical Fireworks Championship: September 24-26
