Sefton North Scouts will be holding their annual St George’s Day Parade in Southport this Sunday (21st April 2024).
Members of the public are invited to enjoy this popular annual event, which has seen generations of local people take part over many years.
Nearly a thousand Scouts from Southport and Formby are expected to meet in Princes Park, next to Southport Pleasureland.
They will be setting off there at 2pm, before parading around the south end of the Marine Lake and over the Venetian Bridge over the Marine Lake and under Southport pier (all off road) and ending up back at the Sefton North Scouts District HQ, Waterside Lodge, next to Marine Lake.

Presentations will then take place in the Waterside Lodge grounds.
The event is due to be complete by 3pm.
Mark Furness from Sefton North Scouts said: “It’s our annual St Georges Day Parade this Sunday and it’s the only time all the Scouting sections from our District meet all at once with young people aged four to 18 years old and all our Adult volunteers parading in full uniform with all their section flags.
“Sefton North District includes Scout sections from Formby and Southport and there could be between 600 and 900 of us on the day.”
