Doors open at 5pm with open networking with the two speakers starting from 6pm.
There is lots of free parking available outside with a pay bar available inside.
The Sponsor Speaker this week is Alison Daniels, a Counsellor & Mental Health First Aid Trainer at Iris Therapy Services: iristherapyservices.co.uk
Alison said: “Iris Therapy Services offers a safe space for people to talk about their life and anything which may be painful, confusing or uncomfortable. A space they can safely explore what is distressing them or causing anxious feelings.
“This can take place in person in my office, at Martland Mill in Burscough, online or on the phone, or we can get out in the fresh air and do walk’n’talk.
“The other element of Iris Therapy Services, which is what I am going to talk about at the Sandgrounders meeting, is First Aid for Mental Health.
“This can enable staff to identify and respond to the signs and symptoms of mental health issues at an early stage.
“The courses will help to promote early intervention in the workplace, encouraging people to talk more, build support networks and enable recovery.”
The Guest Speaker at the event is Liz Hartley, the Fundraising Manager at Queenscourt Hospice.
Queenscourt Hospice is a local charity that provides support for the people of West Lancashire, Southport and Formby.
Queenscourt provides access to Specialist Palliative Care either at home (including care homes), hospital or in Queenscourt via the Inpatient Unit or as an Outpatient. Queenscourt at Home supports patients, and those important to them, to be cared for in their own home, if that is their preference: www.queenscourt.org.uk
