People are being invited to submit redevelopment proposals for the former Sands pub in Ainsdale in Southport – with a deadline for offers set for 1st July.
Any scheme would have to be “appropriate for this leisure, visitor & tourist location”, and could include the boating lake and land nearby.
No formal guide price has been set, with all offers considered ‘on their individual merits’.
Fittons Estates is marketing the site on behalf of Sefton Council.
They said: “Redevelopment proposals are invited for the former Sands Public House at Ainsdale Beach, near Southport.
“Sefton MBC may also consider proposals that incorporate and utilise the adjacent boating lake and land curtilage.
“Situated to a prominent gateway site adjacent to Ainsdale Beach, which has recently been recognised as one of Britain’s best beaches.
“Large site with opportunity for development (subject to necessary planning consents). On-site car parking.
“No formal Guide Price for this opportunity and all submissions and offers will be considered on their individual merits.
“The successful developer would initially be granted a Building Licence followed by a new 125 year long leasehold interest at a peppercorn rental, on development completion.
“Redevelopment proposals are invited appropriate for this leisure, visitor & tourist location.
“Written planning conditional submissions are to be received no later than 5pm Friday, 1st July 2022.”
