A fundraising night is taking place in Southport for a brave 12-year-old schoolboy with leukaemia.
Ra restaurant and bar on Lord Street is hosting the event in October, with all proceeds going towards Lewis Wright.
Lewis, a pupil at Birkdale High School in Southport, was diagnosed with blood cancer in July.
He is currently undergoing his second course of chemotherapy treatment at Alder Hey children’s hospital in Liverpool.
Despite his grelling treatment, Lewis has been praised for his positive spirit by his family.
His Aunty, Louise McHugh, said: “We all keep saying to Lewis – ‘keep going – you are the strongest kid we know’.
“Lewis is still smiling, still singing and he is still Mr Positive!”
The fundraiser at Ra takes place on Sunday October 4th from 6.30pm with all funds raised being donated to Lewis’ Just Giving campaign.
Southport Songbirds Kelly Bond and Hayley Murray will be wowing guests with tickets £10 each which include a complementary entrance into a prize draw.
There will also be additional fundraising on the night.
Indoor tickets have already been sold but outdoor seating will be available with donations also accepted on the night.
A Ra spokesperson said: “The bravery of local lad Lewis Wright has inspired us all here at Ra and we want to do something to help fund him and his family going on a well deserved holiday.
“All funds raised will be directly donated to Louise McHugh on behalf of Lewis’ Just Giving campaign.”
- Lewis’ family are asking firms to donate raffle prizes, and local people to buy raffle tickets, in the appeal for him. If anyone can help Louise please call her on 07734316321 or email [email protected] or visit the Facebook page Lewis Wright raffle Aml Leukaemia.
