Pontins Southport and Prince Of Wales Hotel Southport reopening details revealed by Britannia

Reopening details have been revealed for Pontins Holiday Park in Ainsdale in Southport and The Prince Of Wales Hotel in Southport.

Both are owned by Britannia Hotels. 

Pontins Holiday Parks are re-opening from 17th July 2020 in line with current government advice. At this time they can only offer self catered breaks.

A spokesman said: “Following Government guidelines there will be no entertainment and the activities on park will be limited as social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.

“Pontins Holidays takes the health & safety of all its guests and staff very seriously and as such please be advised we will review and update this information as it is released by the government.

“All our parks and holiday villages are situated a stone’s throw from the beach; the weather is set to be fantastic; we look forward to welcoming you back.

“Following the latest government announcement; we are working hard to open our onsite bar, supermarket, arcade, bingo and take away facilities. We will update as more information is available.”

The Prince Of Wales Hotel in Southport meanwhile will provide accommodation for NHS, Vulnerable People & Key Workers only.

Britannia Hotels revealed that the historic site on Lord Street will be among 32 of the firm’s buildings which will have restrictions on who can and can’t stay there. 

Hotels in England are allowed to reopen from tomorrow, Saturday, July 4. 

A spokesman said: “Selected hotels remain open to support the NHS, Local and Central Government Agencies, Key Workers and other groups identified by the Government. 

“The remainder of our hotels are available to book, for all customers, for stays from 4th July 2020.

“Britannia Hotels takes the health and safety of all its guests and staff very seriously and will be keeping the situation under constant review subject to government guidance.

“This EXCLUDES our hotels in Scotland, these are available for all customers to book from the 15th July 2020.”

Other Hotels open for NHS workers, Vulnerable People and Key Workers only include: the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool, Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool and Britannia Airport Hotel Manchester. 

All hotels are currently accepting card payments only – cash will not be accepted

All Covid-19 policies are based on current UK government guidelines and are being constantly reviewed based on the latest advice. In order to comply with the government guidelines when the hotels do reopen, not all of the hotels facilities will be available, and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
