Parkinson’s Books in Southport town centre is inviting people to join them and celebrate the 2024 Record Store Day! 

The iconic bookshop, which also stocks an impressive collection of vinyl records, is hosting a special Record Store Day event between midday and midnight on Saturday, 20th April 2024. 

Funds raised from the event will go to support local Southport mum Katie Froggatt in her ongoing battle against cancer. 

DJs at the event include: Paulie; Paul Elder; Rick Napier; Carol Gilboy; Andy Parkinson; and Howard Bevan.

Parkinson’s Books is situated at 361-363 Lord Street in Southport town centre. 

Owner Andy Parkinson said: “Join the Audio Book family and our resident DJs playing the choice cuts from their record collections on Saturday 20th April 2024.

“Come and enjoy a 12 hour celebration of vinyl, record stores, collectors and DJs, spreading across musical genres, including house, disco, soul, northern, jazz, funk, afro, hip hop etc. 

“The line-up consists of Paulie, Alex Hibbard, Rick Napier, Carol Gilboy, Howard Bevan and myself. 

“Money raised from ticket sales will go towards helping our friend and book shop Disco Queen, Katie Froggatt and her fight against cancer.”
