A new cafe is in the process of opening soon on the ground floor of the Eastbank Enterprise Arcade in Southport town centre.

The Ground Floor, a food and beverage led unit, is currently in design with an occupier and terms are in discussion with owners Sefton Council.

The space was previously occupied by the Gallary Grill restaurant.

The £1.5 million Eastbank development opened its doors last year as one of the schemes funded by Southport Town Deal.

The building overlooks Southport Market Quarter, where the £6.25 million public realm improvement scheme was completed at the end of last year.

The 8,000sq ft Eastbank building provides high-quality workspace and modern amenities for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses in the digital and creative sectors.

It aims to become a central hub for these businesses, providing a strong foundation to grow this vital sector of Sefton’s economy while creating new jobs, developing skills, and opening opportunities for the local community.

Through accessing UKSPF Sefton Council has been able to develop a high-end podcast studio in the building, and to fit out the third floor.

Hatters Digital Marketing Agency moved in last year as the first tenant, with a number of other prospective tenants in discussions on terms.

Practical completion of the building was achieved on the project on 19th May 2025.

Speaking last year, Sefton Council Leader Cllr Marion Atkinson said:

“Southport’s Enterprise Arcade is part of our ambitious, long-term investment strategy to transform Sefton’s town centres into thriving, collaborative spaces for modern businesses and for modern living.

“With Hatters’ move into the Enterprise Arcade, we’re about to see our vision of creating innovative hubs for local businesses to grow and thrive become a reality.

“Vibrant, flexible workspaces like this are essential to attracting talent, encouraging innovation, and ensuring our towns are dynamic places to live, work, do business and flourish.”

The Enterprise Arcade complements other major Town Deal regeneration initiatives in Southport.

These include the development of the £73 million Marine Lake Events Centre, and the transformation of Southport Market into a busy food, drink and events space.
