Baan Coastal is due to open in Cambridge Walks in Southport town centre

A brand new restaurant specialising in fresh sushi, Thai cuisine and hot stone table cooking, will open in Southport town centre this summer.

Baan Coastal will open in the former Hungry Monk unit in Cambridge Arcade, with building work currently under way.

The venture is under new ownership.

It comes at a busy and positive time in Southport town centre, with construction work taking place to improve nearby sites including the former BHS department store building on Chapel Street; the Southport Train Station Approach on Chapel Street; the former Southport Visiter office building on Tulketh Street; and more besides.

A Baan Coastal spokesperson said: “We’re excited to announce the re-opening of this lovely restaurant under a new name: Baan Coastal, with the exact opening date to be confirmed soon.

“Featuring Thai cuisine, fresh sushi, and Black Rock stone table cooking, bringing a unique dining experience to Southport.

“Baan Coastal will be the only restaurant of its kind locally, offering something completely new for the area.

“The venue is now under new ownership and management, and is being fully transformed into a fresh concept.

“To confirm: this is NOT connected to The Hungry Monk in any way.

“We would also like to wish them all the best and good luck in the world for the future.”
